Mazda CX-30, CX-50 and Mazda 3 compacts recalled for camera malfunction
Mazda is recalling 672 of its 2024 Mazda 3, CX-30, and 2025 CX-50 vehicles for a malfunction in the forward sensing camera that may prevent the automatic emergency braking system and the lane-keep assist system from functioning. This may increase the risk of crash and injuries, the automaker said in a NHTSA report. Also, the headlights will not automatically adjust from high beams to low beams as intended, Mazda said.
Dealers will inspect and replace the forward sensing camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 2, 2024. Owners may contact Mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, Option 6. Mazda's number for this recall is 6824H.
Recalled vehicles:
- 2024 Mazda CX-30 (528 vehicles)
- 2025 Mazda CX-50 (2)

Porsche Taycans recalled for incorrect headlight software
Porsche is recalling 954 of its 2024 Taycan electric sports cars because they may been outfitted with some incorrect – and noncompliant – headlight control module software, which may cause a difference in parking lamp operation when turn signals are activated. That can make the car less visible and potentially increase the risk of a crash, the company said in a NHTSA report.
Dealers will update the headlight control module software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 1, 2024. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ARB4.

Volkswagen recalls ID.4 SUVs for door handle defect
Volkswagen is recalling 98,806 of its 2021-2024 ID.4 electric crossover SUVs because the door handles may allow water to enter the circuit board assembly, a defect which can cause the doors to open unexpectedly, Volkswagen said in a report filed with NHTSA. An open door on a moving vehicle puts occupants at risk of injury, and can cause damage to objects and people who may be outside of the vehicle, the company said.
Volkswagen dealers will inspect and replace the door handles as necessary, and update the vehicle software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Nov. 1, 2024. Owners may contact Volkswagen's customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 57J9. This recall expands previous recall numbers 23V-312 and 23V-213. Vehicles previously repaired under 23V-312 and 23V-213 will need to have the new remedy completed.
Recalled vehicles:
- 2021-2024 Volkswagen ID.4
