Want to know which online retailers top the charts for customers?
America's Top Online Shops is a partnership between Plant-A and USA TODAY recognizing online retailers in the U.S. that provide the best experiences.
As part of the study, Plant-A interviewed about 45,000 consumers and collected more than 267,000 retailer reviews. Consumers evaluated experiences where they bought items or got information about products in the last three years. The research makes America's Top Online Shops "one of America's largest independent retail experience studies," Plant-A said.
Each online shop was evaluated across nine experience categories encompassing 50 individual criteria. Those categories included website layout and design, product offer and information, purchasing and ordering, delivery and shipping, customer service, safety and trust, mobile shopping, usability and growth dynamics and size. Companies received ratings of 5, 4-1/2 and 4 stars and were ranked accordingly.
There were 25 online retail segments surveyed, including beauty and health, household and general retail and sports, athleisure and entertainment.
